Round 2 of the Drexler Cup took place at the storied Imola circuit. Victor wanted to build on the solid weekend at the Red Bull Ring and vie for a victory.
Qualifying 4th for races 1 and 2 put Victor in a position for a strong finish at a circuit known for being challenging to overtake.
In race 1, Victor had an excellent start which saw him battling for 2nd overall. Although he had great race pace and speed, the circuit, he ran out of time for a final overtake and settled for 2nd in class and 3rd on the overall podium.
Race 2 was an eventful one. Some jostling at the start caused Victor to drop to 5th position overall and be in a battle for 4th. Unfortunately, the race was cut short by a red flag, ending the day with a result of 3rd in class and 5th overall.
"This was the best weekend so far, almost entirely in tune with the car; I only had one practice session to use to track as it rained for the quality and one practice, but the pace was good in race one, and I was fighting up front for 2nd place, race 2 had a bad start and lost some positions so I lost time making them back up, race pace was perfect as I was matching the leaders, got unlucky with a red flag and finished 4th on track but 5th with countback, overall perfect weekend."
